Where you’ll be

Captain Cook, Hawaii, United States

The Kona Coast has all the sunny side, sandy beaches, rumbly upcountry towns, and easy-going downtown eateries and restaurants. We are in upcountry Captain Cook. Approx 35 minutes south of the airport and 20 from town, up in elevation(cooler temps and gentle afternoon rains) in the Kona Coffee region. We are in the Kealakekua Bay region, and Ke'ei is the district. Our grounds are home to a few occasional dogs, and a cat named Pong. Also wild trespassers in the form of Boar.

Please note adjacent to the Shack 2 is another barn structure, a man cave, operational wood shop. (8am-5pm on occasion). We are also a working farm with laborers picking mac nuts and coffee when in season. They have day hours are are respectful of our guests.

The houses are separate and situated across and down from one another. There is garden space and three acres to enjoy. Seasonal lemon, avocado, banana, papaya, passion fruit (lilikoi) pineapple, mountain apples, and other fruits can be enjoyed and shared. Please inquire.

We are a wife and husband couple in our early 60's, parents of 3 splendid adults, all living in the Hawaii island chain. We share the love of communication and hospitality with world travelers in this tropical landscape. Living and working in paradise, we support a large animal family, and grow infamous Kona coffee cherries(beans) in late summer. We also grow Macadamias, Jack fruit, Bread Fruit(Ulu), avocados, citrus, and enough bananas to keep us in pies, bread, and smoothies all year! Currently we support the Ulu Cooperative locally, where they turn bread fruits into gluten free flour, and have created fresh to freezer bags of several local (meatless) food staples. They are available now in the freezer section at Longs CVS. We welcome your interest and questions, and to stay here in our Hawaii home. Join us!
