The Boat Shed is located in the natural setting of Old Timberline, Canaan Valley, WV. The Boat Shed property borders Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge, approximately 16,000 total acres and Timberline Conservancy which is comprised of approx. 500 acres with designated hiking trails around both Sand Run Lake and Spruce Island Lake. The view and access of Sand Run Lake provides winter vista views and summer & canoeing fishing adventure. As Timberline Association website states "Trails in the conservancy have been upgraded and there is a trail with superb views at the top of Cabin Mountain with easy connections to the trails in the Dolly Sods Wilderness.
