Where you’ll be

Woodbury, Vermont, United States

Our house can easily accommodate a family of 4-6. It is a great get away location for any family or couple wanting to spend some relaxing by the water. It is easily accessible – meaning you don’t need to struggle through tough roads in the winter or during Vermont’s very difficult springs.

We are right on Woodbury Lake (aka Sabin Pond) to enjoy a day on the water with your paddle board, fishing boats, floating rafts, or just for a nice and refreshing dip in the fresh, clear lake. We have 2 kayaks and a paddle boat that you may borrow, and life jackets as well. There are other lakes and ponds nearby, as well. Biking is a great activity in Vermont, as well.

The kitchen is complete – dishes, pots & pans, dishes, dishwasher, and coffee pot. Dining room for your full group.

Each bedroom and the main level has a 1/2 bathroom and is completely furnished with bath and hand towels, wash clothes, hand soap and toilet paper. The beds are made with clean fresh sheets and comforters. The second floor has a community shower room with shampoo and soap.

Our heat is radiant – it keeps the floors nice and toasty. Sunshine warms up the main level really nicely in the winter. We do not have a fireplace – you see a faux fireplace in the pictures.

Guest access
We have WiFi and limited cable TV – so bring your own Roku or Firestick if you wish. TV monitors in the living room and the primary bedroom.

For better cell reception we have installed a booster as well for improved voice quality. We rely on wi-fi calling. But, remember, it is Vermont, and the cell service is occasionally a challenge.

Winter months:
So warm and cozy - play games and puzzles, cards and checkers. Cross country skiing and snow shoeing close, even on the lake! It freezes hard, so ice fish if you can handle it (It can get pretty cold!). Downhill skiing is close and there are options within a reasonable distance. Mad River, Bolton Valley, Smugglers and Burke. We are also very close to the VAST Trail for snow machines.

Summer months:
Outdoor fire pit, gas grill, some firewood provided, kindling, picnic area, seating to enjoy the great outdoors onsite. Got to be honest – there are mosquitos and black flies (those go away in mid June) Be sure to pack bug repellent.

Visit nearby VT attractions!
Fly Wheel Farm – directly across the street from our house – fresh produce, open Thur - Sat
Hillstead Farm Brewery and many other breweries
Cabot Creamery in Cabot
Ben & Jerrys in Waterbury
Stowe bike path
Many nearby Sugar Shacks – Bragg’s is very close
Positive Pie in Hardwick and Plainfield
Apple picking
Slice of Earth Farm Stand, Wolcott VT (fabulous fruit. Check website, as it has odd hours)
Hope Cemetery (Barre)– a different thing to put on an attraction list, but it is filled with very interesting and beautiful headstones. These are granite artists – and they show off their skills with fascinating memorials.
Golf course – 1 mile! Great little 9 hole course

2 kayaks and a paddle boat are available at the house. We require anyone using them to use a life jacket which we have available, as well.

Other things to note:
Woodbury is known as the land of lakes and ponds. Bring your paddle board or canoe and come enjoy the water. We have a small private beach area, and there is a shallow area for your little ones to enjoy the lake, too. The yard is flat and grassy – so lots of room for a game or a tent!

Feel free to ask questions or make a special request.

Hardwick – 9 miles, restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies & liquor stores
Montpelier – 15 miles – nice restaurants and shopping, movie theatre, grocery store.

My husband and I love to travel, and have loved every one of our airbnb experiences. We like food, wine, people (sometimes!) and places. We are so happy when someone who is experienced in a location gives me pointers. As hosts, we want guests to love our spot as much as we do. So...this is really why we love airbnb.
