The space
The sixth-floor, 406-sq.-ft. studio showcased here combines gleaming bamboo hardwood floors, tiled kitchen, granite counters, wall-mounted 43-inch 4K Ultra High-Definition LG internet-enabled "Smart" TV, marble bathroom vanity, oak-clad bookcases and other built-ins and upgrades. The TV can log into any of your video streaming accounts such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney, YouTube, etc. It also pulls in some 200 other channels.

Six-month minimum lease may be available starting Jan. 1, 2023 or so. Sorry, No pets. No inside smoking. No haggling.

The apartment enjoys its own blazingly fast Starry brand Wi-Fi network (clocked at more than 300 mbps by the Airbnb app) -- in addition to a building-wide network that's useful as a backup.

The full-sized double bed, with solid wood frame and matching headboard, measures 54 inches wide by 74 inches tall (137 cm x 187 cm).

On-site parking is available from third parties. Garage spots typically rent for $125 per month, outdoor spots for $100.

The ultra-conveniently located community is called River Place. It's about a 15-minute walk across the Potomac River to D.C.'s trendy Georgetown area -- an historic university hub of cafes, clubs, restaurants and upscale shopping.

The highly popular River Place South building houses an 11,000+-square-foot fitness center with late-model cardio and strength equipment, large stretching area, sauna and steam room. The fitness center offers free classes typically in such things as Yoga and Tai Chi, the Chinese martial art practiced for whole body fitness.

Perfect for GWU and Georgetown students, DC-based diplomats and travel nurses among others. Five minutes' drive to the White House. A straight shot to the U.S. Congress by the metro's Orange line from the Rosslyn station to Capitol Hill South station.

I'm a career reporter, based for long stints in New York, Paris, Bangkok, Washington D.C. and, as a visiting professor of journalism, in Shanghai. Am glad to steer visitors to interesting spots in and around D.C. When I'm out of town, an in-house assistant manages key hand-offs and orientations to the property. As a guest, I pride myself on taking excellent care of others' homes. I like to err on the side of kindness and appreciate others who feel and act similarly.
