The space
Nestled amongst a secluded, serene and lushly landscaped 5 acre coffee and fruit farm in the heart of Kona coffee country, the jungle yurt is the perfect place for those looking for an authentic and unique Big Island stay. Overlooking the Kealakekua Bay and South Kona coastline, with some of the island’s most popular swimming, snorkeling and kayaking, as well as the Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historic Park are all less than 10 minutes away. Venture up the hill a few short minutes and immerse yourself in the villages of Captain Cook, Kealakekua, and Kainaliu, which boast local produce stands, a Sunday farmer’s market, coffee shops, and restaurants offering traditional Hawaiian cuisine. Experience one of the last true slices of Old Hawaii. It’s also a short 30 minute drive into larger Kailua Kona, an hour and a half to Volcanoes National Park and Waimea, and 2 hours to Hilo.

The Jungle Yurt comes furnished with a queen bed, cozy reading nook with a couch day bed?, small kitchenette and outdoor patio deck? overlooking the coffee fields and coastline below with panoramic ocean views and sunsets to die for. The bathroom is outdoors, but secluded from view of any neighboring properties. Fresh towels and linens are provided. The kitchen is stocked with dining essentials, a small fridge, microwave, convection burner, pour over coffee pot and assorted teas?.

The host lives on the premises with his sweet and friendly dog, Oliver, and can make himself available for recommendations or any needs that may arise, but otherwise respects the privacy of our guests. The property is private, securely gated, and offers parking, high speed wifi and all of the amenities one expects from a modern stay, while also affording you the opportunity to unplug, slow down and immerse yourself in nature.
