The 30 minute drive to the South Jetty of the Columbia River bar is a must see. Drive out to parking lot C and go up onto the observation platform for an unforgettable view of the ocean and mighty Columbia river. When the tide is up and the wind is blowing there will be no doubt in your mind why this is call, "The graveyard of the Pacific." After all, there has been more than 2000 ships lost here since its discovery just 200 years ago.
