Wonderful food. I especially like their market in the back of the restaurant. So much to choose from, baked goods, breads, desserts, sides, and main entrees like Chicken Divan, casseroles, stews and soups to just heat up. All very yummy. Farm to table. They take food seriously.

Good steaks, good margarita! Did not like my black bean burger, too dry. Good for takeout. There is also a Larkin's on the Lake in Lake Lure, about a 30 minute drive, but the atmosphere out on the deck looking at the lake is wonderful and dog friendly!

Have not found great Mexican in this town since leaving Atlanta, but the best of the bunch is El Sureno which happens to be just outside the entrance to the lake.

Another good restaurant in Saluda if you happen to go touring. About 20 minutes away from the lake up 176. Beautiful drive. Open air, outside patio, dog friendly. Big menu. Full bar. The sides are awesome. Try the tomato pie, my favorite!
