Tons of food and drink options in Davis Square. Walk 15 minutes on Community Path to get there. Train station is also here. One of the best commercial areas of the Boston area IMO.

Not as good Davis Square, but a little closer walk and still has a number of great places, our favorites being Daddy Jones, Old Magoun Saloon, Pennypackers, and Modelo. There is a CVS here.

A small Thai restaurant/take out place walking distance. We like the Phad See You and Phad Thai. Take the Community Path east to the end, go up stairs, up Lowell Street towards Highland Ave and take left on Highland Ave.
