The Highlands, once known as the Traditions Course when it opened and among Golf Digest’s list of best courses in1997, was designed by Kurt Sandness, president of SKAMP Golf Design, North Carolina, and Minnesota. The mission was “to create an aesthetically appealing, playable and strategically challenging golf course amidst the beauty of Mother Nature”.
Under the new ownership of Keith Hiett, the course once again The Tradition has never looked better. The well-bunkered lush, finely manicured greens, and rolling fairways testify to the TLC that takes place on a daily basis.
A Par 72 Course, it plays 6,906 yards from back tees perfectly woven through the hills of Alabama. The Course layout

Home of the Auburn University (Basketball) Tigers, Auburn Arena has become one of the most electric and energetic Hoops Venues in the Country over the past 4 or 5 years (prior to the hiring of Head Basketball Coach and Fan Favorite, Coach Bruce Pearl). Opened in 2010, it proclaims there is "not a bad seat in the house" (and having sat in various spots in the Arena, I concur); it is home to the "Jungle" (The Auburn Univerisity Student Section) which gives the Tigers a night in, night out home court advantage, as evidenced by back to back Top 10 Finishes in the NCAA Top 25.

Many people confuse Chimney Rock with the nearby jumping rock called Acapulco Rock. Chimney Rock is a few meters from the waterfront and is not situated for jumping, however, thousands of people take the plunge from atop "The Rock" to the waiting water x Yearly.
