1 Mile long white sand beach. A provincial beach so has bathrooms/outhouses; it's a long sandy beach, you will love evening walks there. There is a river at the end of the beach during high tide you will see kids (young and old) jumping off an old rail bridge into the water. http://www.novascotia.com/see-do/outdoor-activities/summerville-beach-provincial-park/1959 Tip: do not stop at the first parking lot, keep going there is lots of parking.

Amazing beach. This one is my favourite and very close (you can actually see it from the backyard of the cottage). It is really 3 white sandy beaches in 1, if you are lucky you might even find a sand dollar or 2 in the water. http://nsbeaches.com/beaches/carters-beach.php. (has a small parking lot so go early, if parking on the road only park on one side and do not block the road, they do ticket).

Nice hike to a beautiful beach. The AirBNB Map isn't locating this correctly so please verify directions. It is in Port Joli on the Saint Catherine River road.
Part of Parks Canada (but free of charge) this is a beautiful walk (about 25 mins), to the most beautiful beaches, don't stop at the first beach keep along the path and climb some rocks, the view is worth it, you will most likely see many sea lions sunbathing on the rocks close to shore. Wear good shoes, the path can get a little rugged, and if a hot sunny day take water and a hat, there is little to no shade. http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/pn-np/ns/kejimkujik/visit/seaside-bord%20de%20mer.aspx

White Point is a resort community with a big lodge and cottages; however you are still allowed to use the beach as all beach property is public property in Canada. The surf has more waves here and there is a surf school that you can take lessons, as well as they have paddle boards, etc. for rent. The resort has a nice restaurant with bar, gift shop, and golf course. It's worth going to White Point even if it is just to go see their bunny colony, there are a lot of little bunnies running around near the lodge. http://www.whitepoint.com/

It is about 30 minute drive from the cottage, it is a beautiful crescent shaped (as the name suggests). There are facilities there including bathrooms, snack bar and interpretive centre, (If the weather is not that nice it’s still a nice drive and little town to explore). http://www.lockeport.ns.ca/

One of the two grocery stores in town (they are right across from each other). We do fine that the meat & seafood selection is better here.

Renovated in 2016, this is a more pricy restaurant, if in high season on a weekend you will want to make a reservation. Great view!
