Fantastic gourmet tacos and margaritas. Lines in the summer can leave people waiting 2 hours for a taco and margarita fix, but the wait is always worth it. The have one of the best outdoor patios in the city. In a hurry? They have a walk up window, too. Cash only!

Best burger in Chicago hands down. Prepare for long waits, especially on the weekend. Go at lunch when they open, put your name on the list, and then hop over to Haymarket across the street for a drink. It'll be well worth the wait.

Fantastic speakeasy, recently named the best cocktail bar in the USA! Sometimes hard to find amidst the ever-changing wall mural, Violet Hour is a dark, sumptuously appointed retreat from the harsh world outside, attended by nattily dressed barkeeps who exhibit a balletic facility with jigger, shaker, and glass. (Chicago Reader) Dress code always in place: no sneakers, no t-shirts, no hats. Also, no phones

This is Chicagos first bar-cade featuring a full stage and a huge variety of best in class arcade games. Live Dj sets on the weekends and a ton of old school arcade games that are about .25 cents each to play. Open late but super busy.

Chicago is famous for deep dish, but Piece's New Haven style pizza has a loyal following and is in the conversation for the best pizza in the city, and deservedly so. They also brew their own beer. Piece is big, with a large bar area and sports on the TVs.

The Sears Tower Skydeck is totally touristy, but also very neat. Officially renamed the Willis Tower, this formerly tallest building in the world provides a 360 degree view of Chicago. The lines can get long, but a trip here can fit into almost any schedule. You can go at the beginning of your trip and get the lay of the land or at the end of your trip and see where you've been. You can go during the day and look out over Lake Michigan or at night and see the lights of the city. Just make sure to go when the skies are clear!
