The Parting Glass. Not just a pub - but GREAT place for live music. Do NOT miss 'Hair of the Dog' if you're lucky enough to be in town when they're playing!

Great local museum. They have music on the rooftop in the summer. Walking distance (well, at least what a newyorker would consider walking distance)

The gallery exhibits local artists, and it has a giftshop. They also organize "First Night" on Dec 31st - which is rather spectacular: broadway closes to traffic, there are tons of concerts & performances, capping off with fireworks.

Gallery showing regional artists (all genres). They are very active, and always have something going on (& a great giftshop too!). In the summer and fall, look into their Festival (200 unique artist vendors, and 15,000 people!), and in the winter their entire place turns into an artists' holiday shop.
