Beautiful setting over the harbour and a top class restaurant, especially for seafood. Definitely try the Seafood Chowder! Easier to get in for lunchtime, or otherwise must book for evenings.

This is the locals' favourite cafe and bakery. Try an Almond Bear Claw, melt in the mouth pastry with an almond filling. Yum!!

A true Italian restaurant. We often go here to share a wonderful Antipasto del Mare, a scrumptious selection of calamari, prawns, mussels, salmon and scallops with pita bread. Delicio!

Sightseeing
This is an iconic walk around an extinct volcano, Mount Maunganui. Shaded by overhanging Pohutukawa trees this is a very scenic, coastal walk. Watch the ships sailing in through the narrow channel, enjoy the waves crashing on the rocks, spot the seals basking below. Finish up at Copenhagens for an icecream in a waffle cone. My favourite is frozen yohurt.
