This once-upon-a-time gas station turned popular cafe by a local Japantown family is one of my favorite spots in town. This family-owned cafe has great indoor and outdoor seating, right on the corner of Jackson and Fifth, in the heart of the historic San Jose Japantown. Stop for a latte, enjoy the surroundings and take a stroll up and down Jackson.. salute and appreciation of the oldest Japantown in the country and the rich heritage and community of Japanese Americans. Plan to go on a Sunday morning, where you could also enjoy the Japantown farmer's market (9-11:30), or on any other day for lunch or dinner at one of the many Japanese restaurants in the area.
