This very old Hotel has a good resaturant menu, excellent beer and drinks in two bars, both are very comfortable. Also here are the lovely hot pools, take your togs for a soak, the pools are private belonging to the hotel. Lots of history here and many old photographs of times gone. There is also a golf course.

Plenty of walking tracks to suit all abilities. Pirongia itself has some good eating places and some speciality shops, well worth a visit. Also the Alexandra Redoubt site can be visited, and there is a lovely park area above the river for a picnic.
