As a cheese enthusiast, I was a fan of Alison's work while she was still based in Camden/Rockport area...and delighted when she moved to within a mile or so of Friendship! Visit her saltwater farm to buy her award winning cheeses and visit with her pretty jersey cows and muscovy ducks.

Wharfside dining and country store at Monhegan ferry landing. Proprietor: Linda Bean, of the LL Bean family. Easy trip by boat, do-able by kayak. Great for fried seafood fix, though we'd like to have a word with Linda about the Miracle Whip on the lobster roll. Seriously, props for authenticity, because Miracle Whip really is a thing around here, like Moxie soda, but much like Moxie, it's an acquired taste.
