Traveler advice
Getting around
The Blue Line is a rail tram that will take you to LA
The Blue Line (newly named the A Line) has several stations in downtown Long Beach (1st and Pine, 5th and Pacific, Broadway and Long Beach Blvd.). It takes 1 hour to get to downtown LA. Hollywood is another 15 minutes (transfer to the Red Line). You can also take it Pasadena, Universal Studios, and Santa Monica (each of those are another 30 minutes or more).
Getting around
Electric Scooters
Long Beach has 4 companies that operate 6,000 electric scooters (must have a driver's license). Go up to unattended scooter and use your cell phone to immediately book it (you must download the app of the scooter company). A fun way to explore Long Beach and the port. They are not allowed on the Beach Bike Path.
Getting around
Bike Lanes and Beach Bike Path
Long Beach is very bike friendly and has many miles of dedicated bike lanes. In fact, the 3rd Street bike lane is a protected bike lane (parked cars separate you from traffic) right in front of some of our apartments or within 100 feet of our other apartments. The Beach Bike Path is paved and is right on the sand. It makes a wonderful day trip to Belmont Shore.
