This is our go-to beach for a tranquil beach day. We recommend going to the Oasis section if you are looking to swim (much less rocky than near the cafe). There is a dog-beach where you can take your leashed dog so they can get some sun and sand with you.

Sightseeing
We recommend that everyone visiting the Tampa bay area visit this beach and walk along the iconic pier. We recommend going early (before 10:30am) to beat the crowds. If you can't find public parking, we recommend the parking deck located behind Surf Style. If you are looking to swim in the Gulf of Mexico, this is the place. Almost no seaweed or rocks.

The trail has many access points, one of them is just a block and a half from our house (just cross over Douglas Ave.). You can easily walk or bike downtown using the trail or if you are up for a longer-ride, you can bike toward Honeymoon Island and spend some time at the beach along the causeway.
