Sites to see
This lake is good for Bass fishing, as well as watching wildlife. From Potato Hills Landing #1 and #2, the sunsets are amazing to see. From our cabin, the morning sunrise over the lake is a site to behold

Oklahoma is rich with Native American history. The SE portions of Oklahoma were initially granted to The Choctaw Nation. The council house is located near Sardis Lake and within 10 minutes or so from the cabin. Even a drive through the grounds is exciting. Look for the Buffalo herd!

If you have the time, take the Talimena Scenic Drive between Talihina, OK and Mena, AR. Just across the state line in Arkansas is the Queen Wilhelmina park what has amazing views, a restaurant and things for the kids.

My favorite places to eat
Yes, there are some great places to eat near the Sardis Lake area. A short drive is worth the reward
Reservations are required. And, they only serve diner. it is off the beaten path, but was just awarded the Made in Oklahoma Restaurant of the Year! It's located at the end of a dirt road. Actually a rock house with the rooms converted to cozy intimate dining. Arrive a few minutes early and enjoy watching the horses.
