The best American-style bakery in SF in our opinion. Tartine which is more of a French-style bakery gets way more pub, and is deserving of it, but this spot is a hidden gem with equally great pastries and bread, and far less wait time. The coffee is great too!

A San Francisco institution, this coffee joint does it a little differently - no espresso drinks, only pour-over, and they specialize in flavored drinks. Our personal fave is the Mocha Tesora. Take your coffee to-go and head to Noe Valley Park across the street.

Our favorite fusion sushi joint in SF. A little on the pricey side, but worth it. The dinnertime wait can be long, but unlike most restaurants in SF they do keep a wait list, so call ahead.

An old-school Italian place run by real Italians, this is a good place to hit up when you're tired of all the ultra-trendy SF restaurants that give you tiny portions. The folks at Lupa will make sure you don't leave hungry.

Great local Mexican chain. Mission has more and better places, but if you have to get something in the neighborhood, this is the place, and it can hang with all of those Mission joints in terms of quality. This is our go-to when we don't have time to cook dinner.
