Coffee Shop that's closest to my house. Lots of lunch & breakfast food. Nice outside patio. (fun fact: I built the floor of the treehouse in my back yard from old table tops from this coffee shop.)

Better coffee than Progressive Grounds, but less atmosphere and a little farther away. I like their bagel sandwiches (lox, egg & cheese).

BARS
If you want something that is very San Francisco, check out this place. But, don't let the first room fool you! — walk all the way out back and it is a whole 'nother world. It can be a bit magical and very cool.

A swank, but understated bar that you might find in Manhattan. I'd suggest going to Wild Side West first, then go here. Or vice versa.

Very cool warehouse + bar + food truck. Very trendy place these days. Pets welcome & kids until 8pm. It’s only a few blocks away. Two big screens for games (and volume is usually down so it doesn't feel like a sports bar). You do need to walk down a hill and back up (after a few beers!) Worth it!

open 5AM to 11PM, self service. The FOB key chain for the gym is hanging on the chalkboard downstairs. It’s just 2 blocks away. BernalFit @ 701 Cortland Ave. It’s a self-serve gym w/no attendant, so you don't need to talk with anyone when you enter. There's a bathroom, but no locker room/showers, so come back home to do that.

Okay, a brewery doesn't sound like a family spot, but this one is a GREAT one up until 8pm when kids have to leave. This place just has a fun, open warehouse space with lots of games (ping pong, foosball, shuffleboard, video games and more). Food truck out front. Easy parking. And, you can bring your dog.
