The Pijp - Restaurants
The Pijp is a great neighbourhood for locals and tourists alike. The Ferdinand Bolstraat and Ceintuurbaan (the two main streets with tram lines) are just a stone’s throw away and are where everything happens in this neighbourhood. If you are looking for a bite to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner or just a drink in a bar or café, you are sure to find something to your liking. As all this choice can be overwhelming, here are a list of restaurants that we personally really like.

It is an Amsterdam Institution.... an old tram depot that was converted into a cinema - called the Filmhallen, various galleries or art spaces as well as the Foodhallen – a collection of restaurants of every cuisine thinkable, often with live music. It very quickly became a hugely popular hang out space for dinner and after-dinner drinks. Beware, can get very busy and noisy. Don't go if this is not your thing.

Another gem just a few steps away - they make omelettes in every flavour imaginable. This place was featured in the lonely planet and is now hugely popular with the tourists as well as the locals. Don't get worried if there is a queue - it moves fast and we never had to wait more than 10 minutes.

This is a great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch, drinks or dinner... Previously a movie theatre that was stylishly remodeled - evoking a beach/ surf hut holiday feel. Service can be a bit slow, but the food and smoothies are lovely.
