brilliant pizza, great cocktails, fun vibe. on the same site as chicken shop (downstairs) & dirty burger (out the back), both of which are also great. there's often a wait but you can put your name down and get a drink at the vine across the street.

closest green space. i suggest walking to the gloucester gate entrance down parkway & past the york & albany. walk along the outer circle, have a look at the beautiful nash terraces & the danish church. the park itself is not as beautiful as hampstead heath but is very flat & great to walk/run around, and in certain parts you can see into the zoo without having to pay extortionate zoo prices.

an absolute london must, especially in summer. you will recognise many parts of it from films, especially kenwood house. if you are brave, there are both mixed & gender-segregated swimming ponds - these are beautiful but very wild & often very cold! on a summer afternoon there are few things nicer than going to the south end green entrance (belsize park tube & cut through the royal free hospital, or get the 24/168 bus), getting a picnic from m&s or karma bread, having a swim in the pond, & finishing up in the garden gate pub.

lidl inspires a kind of fanatical devotion in londoners. it is an incredibly cheap supermarket; you will not be able to buy most big brands, but they have pretty good own brand equivalents, & it is also absolutely the best place nearby to buy alcohol (though it will not be chilled).

if you insist on going to camden market, & accept that it will be absolutely packed with tourists, this is its street food market section, which is mainly outdoor & offers many different world foods. there's not much space to sit, but you can get a roti or a salt beef bagel & go for a wander around the market itself.
