Grab a bottle of wine or beer and hike to the top of tuna canyon. There is a beautiful view, with a bench to relax on, of Santa Monica, Catalina Islands, Palos Verdes, downtown Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Mountains. The trailhead and parking is just up the road 2 miles from the cabin.
