This is a nice place to take a day hike, and has it's own parking area, so you don't need to pay to park. There is an abandoned Lime Kiln there that you can explore.

Junction Park
13264 Middleton AveThis is a small local park with a great swimming hole.
There are many great swimming holes in Henry Cowell State Park, this is one. It is a bit of a hike down to the river, part of it along the railroad tracks,. On a hot day this is a hopping place to go swimming, but there are a lot of places to hang out, so it never gets too crowded.

They rent Kayaks, the lake is beautiful and stocked for fishing, there are trails for hiking. The second week of the month there is a guided boat tour, led by the rangers, that goes around the lake on a pontoon boat.

tiny tiny arts venue/maker space, that sometimes has live music, sometimes has a gallery show. You definately need to get tickets ahead as it seats less than 50.

Shopping
Yes it is a nursery and feed store, but I almost guarantee you will enjoy shopping here. They have cute things for your kitchen, they have soaps, they have local honey. Oh, and they also have plants and pet food.
