This one is a bit hard to find, but it’s famous for its ribs. I’ll add a few other BBQ stops that are imo BETTER, but this place has history oozing & it is good food. So you won’t be disappointed, but is you’re coming for BBQ, I’ll add a few others with description.
These ribs are generally served dry. They have a great rub, but they aren’t as tender as I prefer

This is one restaurant you may not find in your “What to do in Memphis” pamphlets. It’s actually a dive bar juke joint said to be haunted. It is located downtown. The burgers are good and the atmosphere is great.

A great place for BBQ. This is my second favorite. It has more of a vinegar based sauce and slaw.

My favorite BBQ restaurant of all. Multiple wins at the Annual BBQ feast, featured on Diners, Drive-In’s, and Dives with Guy Fieri. This place does it right. You can get your classics Ribs, briskets, catfish, as well as Donut Burgers and the famous “Peace Maker” while snacking on Pork Rines served with BBQ sauce. I really do love this place. Go during an afternoon if you can. It gets fairly crowded during evening shifts.

I want to be honest. Colletta’s is not in the best area of town. I have gone here my entire life. My parents first date was here. It may appear like you want to run, but if you will just give it a shot. They have wonderful food. No, I am not a BBQ fanatic; HOWEVER of you DO go here at least try a small BBQ Pizza you’ll wish you’d gotten a large. I always ask for extra sauce. All of the other dishes are great too. There is another location on Appling, it’s a drive but a better part of the city. I’ve NEVER heard of anyone having safety issues just happy full bellies.

The best Steak on the planet I am told. I am not a steak eater unless it’s filet mignon. It’s quite expensive, but I’ve heard it is amazing.

This is a great place for food and fun
Good fun and unique atmosphere
If you’re traveling with a younger crowd go during the day. Familiarize yourselves with the parking and the outskirts of the area. Safety concerns can arise; however use common sense and you shouldn’t have problems. There is a heavy police presence, especially in the evenings.

This will be in all of your guide books, it is truly a neat place. Especially in the summer when they have their rooftop music events. The daily marching of the ducks is something every can get tickled about. Plus, they have an incredible brunch.

It is why it is. Most tourists say “I could have skipped that.” If you’ve got a burning desire to go, GO, just be prepared to spend your money it’s an expensive tour. My favorite part is the wardrobe & awards Hall. The tiger room is pretty neat as well.
