Whitewater Rafting at NOC! The Nantahala River water is
much cooler than the Ocoee because it comes from the
bottom of Lake Nantahala. Enjoy a nice river ride or take a
raft down yourself with or without a guide. Nantahala
rafting is about 45 minutes East of Murphy on Hwy 74. This
will be calmer and more family friendly.

Bald River Falls
I love this waterfall!
Brasstown Bald rises 4,784 feet above sea level and is Georgia's highest mountain. On clear days a 360 degree view from a top the mountain allows you to see four states
- Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. There is a visitor center on top. A steep, paved ½ mile trail leads from the parking lot to the Visitor Info Center on the Bald. For those who don't want to walk, a concessionaire operates a shuttle bus from the parking area to the Visitor Center for a fee. The Bald is open daily from Memorial Day
through October and on weekends in early spring and late fall (depending on weather). There are picnic tables and food concessions at the parking lot.

The Ocoee River has been described as the “roller coaster of the south east'! About 30 minutes West of Murphy on 64 West, pass over the Tennessee line and enter the Cherokee National Forrest. This is where some activities
for the 1996 Olympics took place. The ranger station and bridge area comes up on your left side. You can park below and check out the inside of the Ranger Station, maps and info on the area. You can go across the bridge and either hike a trail or take a right and it runs along the river, nice walk and fun on the rocks. For Swimming: go to the LEFT of the bridge and follow that trail down about 75-100 feet and
you will find some open areas to the water. The water does not run on the weekday and it creates big pools of clear water. Kids will have fun swimming and jumping off the rocks.
