Inspired by classic Japanese gardens, Japan Square is a homage to Curitiba from the land of the rising sun. There is an imposing replica of the 11-meter-high Kyoto Golden Temple and a bronze heron at the top of the house donated by a Japanese delegation from the city of Hijemi during a visit to Curitiba in 1994.
The square houses the Japanese Immigration Memorial and the Hideo Handa Library. The Japanese Immigration Memorial is administered by volunteers of the Japanese-Brazilian Association of Curitiba (Nikkei). In the space there are various activities such as meditation, soroban (Japanese abacus that proposes gymnastics for the brain), tea ceremony and there is still a handicraft shop. Speaking of tea ceremonies, the moment is regarded as a ritual, an art and form of meditation for the Japanese. At Memorial, it occurs on the top floor of the house. Free workshops - as well as workshops - are given free of charge, as well as lectures.
Inside the Memorial, there is the Hideo Handa Library with manga and books in Japanese and Portuguese, which cover topics such as Japanese culture. In a green area of 8,420 m², there are 10 cherry trees and a Japanese pine, Buddha statue in resin, five lakes with colored carp, lawn, two waterfalls, Japanese wooden portal, an oriental lantern, which is a stone monolith carved with (June 18, 1958 and June 18, 2008, respectively) and the Peace statue No. 30.31, by the Japanese artist Baku Inoue, in reference the atomic bomb of Hiroshima. To borrow books from the library you only have to register with a document and proof of residence. The registration is free, and applies to all libraries of the Lighthouses of Knowledge.

Neighborhoods
Traditional neighborhood of Curitiba, the "Green Water", received the name of the river that cuts the region.
The neighborhood that has about 5km² is within the regional gate, and in the Zoning Residence have regions belonging to ZR 3 and ZR 4.
It is one of the neighborhoods where real estate has most appreciated in recent years, being the most looking among those who want to buy real estate already built or rent.
The neighborhood limits with the Batel, Centro, Portão, Rebouças, Seminary and Vila Izabel.
Água Verde blends its residential area, where you can find houses, townhouses and apartment buildings with a rich commercial area, with many corporate buildings with rooms and offices.
Despite being part of the regional gate, the neighborhood is close to the Center a privileged geographical location, which makes the neighborhood close to anywhere in Curitiba.
The local commerce is rich, especially furniture and decoration stores, mainly located in the Iguaçu Street and Getúlio Vargas Avenue and also in the section of the Argentine Republic that cuts the neighborhood.
It has large areas of leisure, making the neighborhood cozy for those who want to walk with their children, animals or work out.
The Ouvidor Pardinho Square, for example, has a large walking area, as well as an open-air gym.
Another area of leisure is the Afonso Botelho square, popularly known as Atletico Square, next to the soccer club stadium.
During the weekend the movement is centered around the various bars and restaurants in the region of Avenues Agua Verde, Iguaçu, Sete de Setembro and Petit Carneiro and Brasílio Itiberê Streets.
In the rest of the neighborhood, on Saturdays and Sundays, calm and tranquility prevail, since most of the passers-by are off duty.
Ideal for those who want to move with family and children, combining the comfort of the central area of the City with the tranquility of a residential neighborhood.
Transportation in Água Verde
The ease of access using public transport is one of the highlights of the neighborhood Água Verde, since it has several lines of feeders, direct lines, express and interbairros.
On the Sete de Setembro street or in the Argentine Republic, you can take the Santa Cândida / Capão Raso Express or the Pinheirinho / Rui Barbosa Express, which connect the North-South axis of the city.
There are several embarkation tubes, separated by distances of 600 meters each, making it easier for those who need the bus.
