This is a moderate hike that is about two miles from the parking area for the Appalachian Trail. You have to cross the Pleasant River on foot, so you may want water shoes. You then hike through The Hermitage and, once you get to the falls, you must climb down roots. It's a steep climb down, but so worth it. You can have lunch and relax next to the waterfall.
