Bays, Beaches and Touristic and Historical Places

Popular beaches, bays and touristic places you should visit around Fethiye.
Good food, good drinks and salty caramel ice cream is the best. Artificial sand but it’s nice to walk on. The best service on Fethiye Peninsula. I heard that pets are not allowed, it’s a minus from my perspective, just you should know if you have pets.

The ancient city of Patara, located on the southwestern end of the modern Teke Peninsula, known as Lukka or Lycia in the Ancient World, and in the east of the River Eşen, which forms the western border of Antalya, has a unique geography within and original civilization. The beach is wavy and not deep for long distance, it’s perfect for kids more than 5 years old. You will have free zone or extra charge for renting umbrellas and sun beds.

Saklıkent National Park, it’s a canyon that you can experience an amazing sportive day. The canyon is 18km long. As the level of water rises during winter months, visitors can enter the canyon all year around only the deeper parts in the summer. 4 km (2.5 mi) of the canyon are walkable after April, when most of the snow in the Taurus Mountains has melted and passed through on its way to the Mediterranean Sea. Saklıkent means "hidden city" in Turkish. So I’m highly recommending you to experience this amazing activity. And please be well prepared before entering the Canyon (it’s slippery that’s why you need plastic shoes, you can also rent there and be aware of water, you need waterproof bags for your equipment)

The Ghost Village Kayaköy, Lycian city Karmylassos pronounced in Modern Greek as Livissi, this city has amazing history and great atmosphere while you are trekking in. It’s on the way to Ölüdeniz, there is also trekking way between Kayaköy and Ölüdeniz. The village has arty atmosphere now that you can visit local artists ateliers, gift shops and restaurants. There is also Gemiler Bay very closed by car, I’m highly recommending. Summertime you should visit before sunset or in the morning cause of strong sun :) just be aware, have fun.

It’s like how it’s named Gizlikent Waterfall (secret town waterfall) so If you are visiting Saklıkent Canyon on the way to turn back to Fethiye please don’t miss this place. There is a restaurant next to it that you can eat fish or meat dishes. It’s very short walk to the waterfall and it’s not risky, slippery like Saklıkent.
