•You can park for $15 a day (earlybird –arrive prior to 8:30am, pick up by close) or $23 for the day (as of 8/25/17) at the Japantown garage, which is two blocks away on Post and Fillmore. http://sfjapantown.org/parking/ . (price subject to change, check website). Hours are M-F-5am-2:30am, S/S, 6:30am-3am.
Getting around

Parking rules for local street parking.

•Our neighborhood has parking controls. First, the street slopes East at 3%+, even if it doesn’t look like it – curb your wheels or you may get a ticket. We are zone G, which means if you don’t have a permit at an unmetered space, you can only park 2 hours between 9AM and 6PM Mon thru Sat, or risk a ticket. We also have street sweeping on our side of Bush St on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, so don’t get caught or you’ll definitely get a ticket. You can get a 2 week temporary permit allowing you the same privileges of a “G Zone” sticker for $33. We can tell you how.
Customs and culture

Safety

•We enjoy Fillmore street night and day, but when we are South of Ellis St, we stay in well-lit areas. Also, if you do have a car NEVER leave anything visible in the car, and we highly recommend you don't leave anything in your car at all even if it is not exposed. There are car break ins as we live in a city.
