Pamela's is a Pittsburgh staple - there are six around the city! Pamela's is famous for their hotcakes (thin and crispy!) and lyonnaise potatoes. While the Shadyside diner is pretty small (head ten minutes by car to Squirrel Hill for more seating), you can always count on a fantastic and affordable diner breakfast no matter which location you go to. Keep in mind that it's cash only!

If you like Thai & Asian cuisine, check out Noodlehead! It's BYOB (and cash only), and the pad thai is some of the best in the city. Cool vibe and fun to visit as a group. Watch out, though - order spice level 1 unless you *really* like spicy food. Even level 2 can be too much.

For date night or celebrating a special occasion, Girasole is a definite hit. Incredible Italian food in a little below-street place and the best tiramisu in Pittsburgh. The owner is usually sitting at the front table drinking wine and welcoming guests.
