This is the main "souk" similar to markets of many Mediterranean cities. This one is definitely the exposed, beating heart of Jerusalem, it’s an adventurous dip into the very essence of Jerusalem and as such it is hectic, intense, colorful and ever changing. In the daytime the shuk is active as a market, with vendors selling fresh fruits and vegetables; baked goods; fish, meat and cheeses; nuts, seeds, and spices In the evening until late at night is transforms to a center of Jerusalem nightlife with restaurants, bars and live music.
