Before you leave
Stand at Radio Shkodra and take a look at the scenery. Hopefully, you will find one of the main reason why Shkodra is so special and why its citizens are really great people.
What to pack
The climate changes in every season
Take a look at the weather predictions. If you are travelling end of spring through autumn, pack lightly. Winter is cold as most of houses/ some hotels/ bars/ restaurants don't really offer the inside heating you may been used to.
Getting around
Walk
Shkodra is a small city, everything is within walking distance. Unless you want to visit suburbs of Shkodra (which I recommend hiring a car) walking should be fine.
Useful phrases
After you said hello
Shkodra's citizens usually have a phrase after they say hello which goes: "Ça bane mar tamarrsha?" which if you translate literally it means "What's up, let me take all your evil". It is an old saying which it is not used in a bad way but as in to say "Here, let me bare what's holding you down, so you feel lighter."
