A great surf beach for beginners. On high tide take the walking path right to Jan Juc beach. On low tide walk towards the cliff and check out the rock pools.

Beach walk favourites
We love Point Addis beach, especially on the low tide when you can walk to the rocks on the right. Low tide walks at Jan Juc beach are great too! Whites beach is a fun dog beach and will give you a laugh! If it’s high tide, walk on the path from Torquay to Bells beach.

Surfing
There are tons of great surf breaks along this coast but ask about the area before you jump in. If you need to rent a board and/or wetsuit go to Bell street where you’ll see a few options (e.g., Go Ride A Wave).

Hours of operation
Torquay locals tend to go to bed early, wake early and play outside. Don’t expect much of a party scene. The two options for a late night include Senors on the Esplanade and Torquay Pub on Bell street.

Mountain Biking
The best mountain biking near Torquay is off of Hurst road, located past Point Addis and before Anglesea on the left. Fun marked trails for all levels.
