Sightseeing
This is where you will be staying! The house abuts the Salem Common, the oldest park in the city. The current incarnation is a product of the Victorian Era with the cast iron fence and permitter of oak and maple trees. The Gazebo was built in 1926 to commemorate the city's Tricentennial. The Common is a great place to stroll in the shade and walk around.
During weekends in October, an open air market will be set up here, great to roll out of bed and do some shopping!

Traveler advice
Getting around
Travel From Logan - Car
There are a few ways to get to Salem from Logan via car. Unfortunately, traffic patterns can be a bit unpredictable, and your best route option will likely come from a navigation app like Google Maps and Waze. That said, the more scenic drive will be along the coast on Route 1A
Getting around
Travel From Logan - Train
This bit over an hour, but depending on the commuter rail schedule it could be about 90ish minutes.
Logan: From Logan, take any of the free Airport shuttle bus (Route 22, 33,66, etc)to the Blue Line. Get off at the Airport Blue Line Station.
Airport Station: Don't proceed into the Terminal, along the outside, look for the sign for SL3 to Chelsea. This bus is also free. Get off at Bellingham Sq/Chelsea Station
Chelsea: Cross the tracks to get to the Chelsea Commuter Rail station. Board a Newburyport/Rockport train to Salem. This is $8 per person. Get off at Salem Station.
Getting around
Travel From Logan - Ferry
The Ferry to the Salem Marina on Derby street Runs May 15 - October 31 (check https://www.cityexperiences.com/boston/city-cruises/salem-ferry/ for full schedule)

Getting around
Parking at the House
The house abuts the Salem Common. Parking is usually pretty easy to come by on the street in front of the house.
If the weather is nice on a weekend, you'll find it a little harder to find a place but the streets directly near the house are not resident parking so you will find something.
In October, the residential side will become permit only while the side of the street along the Common will be open. What I usually suggest is to drop off luggage, then park at the Museum Place Garage or the MBTA garage for the day, then move to the street at night when parking frees up.
