INFAMOUS ! Once selected as the Best Diner in SC. "CALL IT!" This popular landmark has been offering up fried food since the 1940's in Spartanburg. All kinds of burgers, fried chicken, breakfast, lunch or dinner. NOT HEALTHY, plenty of cholesterol. But there can be a wait in a long line. During Political season, candidates come here to speak and get on television. Even yours truly once got stopped and interviewed by NBC television.

My first time here, and it's right on Morgan Square. I don't know why I hadn't tried it yet. We enjoyed Mother's Day 2023 here, so it was busy, yet relaxed. They offer seating outside as well. But we chose the colorful interior. We had the loveliest time leisurely sipping a French Rose, and enjoying some appetizers. followed by a sumptuous meal. Their menu includes a variety of clever side dishes. salads, and entrees. The service was sublime. Our server, Joshua, loves his jobs and it shows. He was so enthusiastic about the menu, and the owner, and management. The interior is covered with art. They have a long old-fashioned bar and witnessed them mixing unusual cocktails. We will try some of them on our next visit.

From Southern Magazine on Spartanburg.
One of the city’s best features is its vibrant downtown that offers a plethora of specialty shops, incredible dining, cultural gatherings spaces, and public art. You’ll want to spend extra time in the Main Street Morgan Square Plaza, a pedestrian plaza in downtown’s cultural district that’s home to near-nightly live music, excellent dining, and Spartangburg’s historic town square.
