Food scene
This is where the locals dine when looking for a cold beer and delicious seafood in a casual atmosphere. Eat outside and order from the outdoor grill. The grilled oysters and Damn Good burger are terrific. The beer is cold and the seafood is fresh! Warning...there are three different kitchens (grill, raw bar and outdoor), so your food might arrive at different times.

This is consistently one of the best restaurants in our neighborhood. The food is good, the drink specials are solid if oyu go early and the help is friendly. Sit on the outdoor patio, and try the candied bacon!

By far, the best breakfast in Fort Lauderdale, but don't go if you're fussy. They have a very strict kitchen (think soup nazi from Seinfeld), but everything on the menu is delicious. I particularly love the corn cakes, Mexican ship wreck, mahi omlette and cheese grits.

Love this place! The food is delicious. I recommend the matzo ball soup, cookies, and just about all the breakfast items. I've never had anything that wasn't delicious, and the help is always friendly. Part of the local "Be Nice" food group.

This is our favorite, hole in the wall, Cuban cafe. We love ordering breakfast and a cafe con leche or a lunch special.

While the food is nothing to write home about, the experience is a must. Sit under the sea grape trees, listen to a live musician and sip a cocktail right across from Fort Lauderdale Beach. This is a dog friendly, kid friendly, chill place to relax.

A bar with 3 rooms of unlimited all-you-can-play video games! What more can you ask?! Often there are food trucks outside, and it's a short walk from other fun bars.

Romantic restaurant
This is our favorite "date night" restaurant. A few years ago, an Italian client recommended this as the only legit Italian restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. The first time we visited, we were treated like family. The food is delicious and the service is so personal. Try the mussels, the burrata, any of their delicious homeade pastas and the branzino. Desserts are off the charts!

Beer
Like beer? Try Laser Wolf. It's tiny, but the company is always good and the beer selection can't be matched.

Getting around
Uber and Lyft are must haves.
Uber and Lyft are must haves. Consider trying electric scooter rentals from Byrd, Lime, etc. Avoid taxis. They stink and drivers don't know where to go.
