Queen Victoria Market
One of the biggest markets in Melbourne, QVM has everything from cheap clothes to fresh produce and food stalls. We like to head here on Sundays to buy our groceries and have lunch.

The Botanical Gardens and War Memorial
Walk around these beautiful gardens and finish the day with an ice cream by the central pond. The Shrine of Remembrance at the entrance is pretty impressive too.

Street Art
Melbourne is known for it's street art. Simply take a walk around our neighbourhood of Collingwood to discover hidden masterpieces (my favourite is a huge mural on Cecil St) or head to the more popular lane ways in the CBD (ACDC and Hozier Lane for example).

Beaches
St Kilda is the local city beach, although not the most picturesque it's a nice spot to grab a beer and go see the penguins.
Brighton, Altona, Williamstown Beach are other local city beaches that are nice enough
For the picturesque Australian beaches we recommend heading down the coast either towards Mornington Peninsula or Torquay way.

Penguins
Head down to St Kilda Pier at sunset to watch the penguins swimming home
