Great Sunday Activity
It’s one of those bittersweet places, it holds so much history, these ruins used to be a cementery for indigenous people back in the colonial time. But now every Sunday it becomes something else, a gathering between locals and travelers, a place of dancing, drinks and street food. Dominican Music is played by a live band, merengue, bachata and salsa!! If you want to show off your dancing skills or learn a few moves, this is the place for you, or even if you want to enjoy a great cultural exchange while enjoying the live music. Just follow the music, usually starts by 5 pm.

Traveler advice
Getting around
In Zona Colonial everything is walking distance
Take advantage of that, get to know the coffee shops, the museums, the cultural side of it, the community. But always remember to be safe, don’t get rides from people you don’t know, use taxis that you’re recommended to, for the rest Uber also works. Be aware of your surroundings. If you want to visit other towns in the island, you can always reach out to your host and check with the them bus routes and recommended destinations to visit
