Entertainment & Activities
Its one of the wonders of the world. I am happy to recommend a company for you to explore the reef. A couple going out to scuba dive will have different needs to a family with small kids. I can recommend a boat that will maximize your experience.

Shopping
If you venture up to Kuranda ( you can drive - only 30 minutes drive) take Kuranda Scenic Rail or Sky Rail. Once you get to the village it feels like another world. There are plenty of markets, galleries, wildlife parks and restaurants all within a short stroll. Make sure you try my favourite eatery " Petit Cafe" in the "Old Market".
