I can’t say enough about this Cherokee Village treasure. It is the only place for breakfast. Great service, unbelievable prices, and local color. Try the Hashbrown Skillet for breakfast. But wait . . . the blueberry pancake is unreal. Cinnamon rolls are off the chain. For lunch, try the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich.

One hour travel time into a wilderness area. Truly stunning scenery in the Mark Twain National Forest. The entry sign to the hike is small and easy to miss. Stop at the Greer Recreational Area for directions if you miss it. There is a man and wife team there on site in a trailer. They manage the area and will give you directions. Nice folks!

Extremely remote but well worth the effort. It is a photo op extraordinaire! Stop and ask for directions at Greer Spring Recreational Area or you will never, ever find this place. At the recreational area, you will find the park sitter and his wife. They are so sweet and so helpful and will have an appropriate map for you. You will travel several miles on a gravel road in a very remote area. Little to NO signage for the turns you will make or for finding the trailhead.

Traveler advice
Don't miss
Remote Hiking in the Mark Twain National Forest
Some of the most beautiful sites in this region of the country are the natural springs in the Mark Twain National Forest. Please do your research before attempting these sites, as they are very difficult to find because of the lack of signage and the remoteness. In one full day, you can do four of the sites that are in close proximity to each other - Greer Spring, Greer Spring Mill, Falling Springs Mill, Turner Mill. Begin your one hour drive into the forest, stop at Greer Springs Rec Area, and ask for a local map or get lost. LOL.The couple who live in and manage the rec area are helpful.

Churches
There are so many in the Village. Just about every denomination is represented. I attend First Baptist Church in Hardy. Sunday School is 9:30 am and worship service at 10:45 am.
