Getting around
Auschwitz and Wieliczka - how to get there
Auschwitz
You can book a tour to Auschwitz that departs from Krakow through companies like Cracow City Tour / Cracow Tours, it is the easiest way.
Or you can go to Oświęcim - Auschwitz by yourself ( bus from bus main station - 1h20-40 or train from main station - 1h40-50) then have a tour with museum guides, you can make a reservation on museum website ( it is good to book it in advance, as soon as possible).
Wieliczka
you can book a tour with companies like Cracow City Tour, but it is easy to go there by train from the main station ( 20 min, 3 pln one way, entrance is in walking distance

What to do - Kraków 1
What I can recommend you in Krakow is to take a walk to Wawel Castel and Main Square, it is one of the largest squares in Europe. There is a great museum under the Main Square. Another great museum is Schindler’s Factory, which is located in Podgórze district, closer to Kazimierz. You will live in Kazimierz, there you can visit all the streets like Szeroka Street and Synagogues, it is a really bohemian neighbourhood with nice cafes, delicious restaurants and art galleries.
Traveling with kids
What to do with kids in Kraków - 1
- Main Square Underground Museum- there is a room for children with old, historic toys.
- Wawel Castel and Dragon’s Den - kids love the legend of the Wawel Dragon, and Dragon’s Den is a perfect way to exit to the riverbank below where you can take photos with fire-breathing dragon monument.
- Blonia Commons and Jordan Park (Al. 3ego Maja) - Big park is located next to the enormous grassland (Błonia). Than you can go to Focha 42 restaurant.
- Polish Aviation Museum (al. Jana Pawła II 39) - all of big machines which kids loves

What to do - Kraków 2
Just around the corner of the apartment, there is Plac Nowy (New Square), you can say it is a small center of Kazimierz, with a lot of cafes. On the middle there is a round building where you can eat the best „zapiekanki” in Poland- bread with toppings of your choice. I will also recommend you the best ice-creams on Starowiślna 83, 7 min by foot from the apartment. Then you can take a walk near Vistula river.
