Our Personal Favorite Places to Eat
These are places we have eaten and would recommend as a good stop when visiting Corpus Christi.
Hester’s on Alameda is very close. It’s located at “6 Points” which is the intersection of Alameda, Staples and Ayers. When I was a child 6-points was the city’s best place to go shopping. Hester’s has great food, breakfast or lunch and good coffee. Its next to Blue Frog which is a fun place to shop for unique gift and antique items.

Sightseeing
Cole Park is just 2 1/2 blocks up the street. If you love to walk or run, you might like to know the distance from the bungalow and around the entire park and back again equals almost exactly 3 miles. It’s a great way to start the morning if you are a jogger, biker or runner. The sunrises are spectacular over the Corpus Christi Bay! In the evening you will see less running and more families out for a stroll. Come park has a nice kids play park and skate park too.

The closest beach is North Beach. If you want an easy quick trip for the kids, but don’t want to spend a day on Padre Island, you might enjoy spending a little time on this small local beach on the Bay.

If you want a real treat, drive over and take the ferry to Port Aransas. Plan to spend the day and there is plenty to see and do. I recommend the ferry ride! Take the route that goes over the Harbor bridge.
