Hiking
There is no shortage of hiking opportunities in the area.
We love to hike, and the Miner's Cabin is in the heart of the Coconino National Forest. I have added several hikes which start at our front door to the GaiaGPS app. The guidebook won’t let me put the links here, but send me a message, and I will give you the links.
Many more extensive hikes are close at hand.

What can we say about the Grand Canyon? You can be a tourist and see the sights, or you can be adventurous and hike it. Our family has hiked the canyon rim-to-rim as a day hike. The park service does not recommend this, but if you are properly prepared you can hike across the canyon in one day. Let me emphasize "properly prepared" as you really do need to train for this. It is like a marathon--only more difficult as you have terrain and weather.
