This is our go-to weekend market. Less than a 10 minute drive from the house. Free parking opposite the market in the parking structure. Great produce, roasted chicken and potatoes stall for Sunday dinner, and our favorite candles are sold here too....
There's also a gourmet soup stand that has incredible soups you can take home and cook during the week. Fabulous!!

This is LA's oldest central market I believe, opened in 1917. You can get a real feel for downtown here, the market is located in a beautiful old historic building. There is a vendor in the back called Chiles Secos with an incredible Latin grocery selection, get the imported moles! To die for, great to cook at home, they can tell you how to use them at the shop.
Tons of great places to eat here. The market is really a place to come for lunch, not so much a place for buying food for the house like the other weekend markets listed.
Tacos Tumbras a Tomas have the best Mexican I have experienced in town. Hands down. Get the gorditas!!!
But you are spoiled for choice at Grand Central!!
