this is the closest beach to the city is around 45 mins-1 hour from the center of the city, if you dont have a car there is some public transportation that can take you there for something around 5-10 American dollars however i do not recommend it. UBER will charge you around 20 us dollars to go there.

This i BY FAR the most economic and bar that you will find around the area, drinks are cheap, music is amazing, staff is friendly, food is cheap and delicious. highly recomended

Getting around
You can UBER anywhere inside the city for aprox 5 USDollars
Even tho we have a Metro that Works really well, i does not allow you to move perfectly all across the city, i would hardly advise you to download UBER, i think if its on you budget possibilities, that the best way to move around the city.
What to pack
This is a tropical country
Dominican Republic is a tropical Paradise, we live in an endless summer, which means through the whole year we have temperatures that round the 30c degrees and 38c degrees, however some night can be fresh around 22c-25c degrees
i would advice you to pack a lot of confortable clothes for summer, shorts, confortable or open shoes, skirt, t-shirts etc..
however is culturally appropriate to wear long pants and shirt when out on a restaurant or clubs.
in most night clubs in Santo Domingo you wont be able to access if you dont dress Semi-Formally because most of them have a dress code
