Useful phrases
Be prepared to leave the hustle behind.
Bring good walking shoes
If you like antiques, leave extra space in the trunk or bring an extra suitcase.
Although we are not isolated, there are not a lot of large chain stores or malls within a 2 hour drive.
There are few liquor stores in town but The Cork & Bottle is across the river in West Virginia and The House of Wine is a short drive just north of town. Weber's Market also has a good selection of wine and spirits.
Customs and culture
Travel safe
Marietta is a small town with a low crime rate. The police keep a high profile on the street during the festival season. Be aware of traffic and use the marked pedestrian crossings where there are lights to calm traffic.
