Totally worth the trip to Stavanger.
-You should leave the apartment latest around 8-9 AM.
-Take the bus to city center.
-Take the "TAU Ferry" to Tau.
-Take bus from Tau to Pullpit R(should correspond with ferry)
-Walk to Pullpit Rock
-Go back, and make the same Return.
Whole daytrip, bring Food & water,(you can also supply/drink water in nature)
There are no fees to walk/hike. Fire is not allowed.
You can also see the the Pullpit Rock from a fjordcruise, that cost Money and is not so Nice as seeing it from the top, but of course you then dont have to walk.. ;-)
