Best coffee, breakfast and lunch joints
Here is a list of my favorite places to go for a good cup of coffee, (healthy) breakfast / lunch and where I come to treat myself with a home made cake or something a like!
Go here for you morning coffee and treat yourself with one of their home made pies, cookies or other sweets. I can also highly recommend having lunch here. Their breads are amazing and sandwitches are so carefully prepared. You'll just have to love it :)

Great places for diner
I love to go out for diner. From simple pub food, to the different Asian cuisines to fine dining. I'm up to it!
One of my favorite places for diner. A great variety of beers, a nice selection of whines and 'simple' but tastefull menu. The steak tartare and Beef Burger are definately my favorites!!

Favorite 'borrel' places
'Borrelen' a typical Dutch word that doesn't translate into English. Basically it means 'having drinks'. We Dutchies love to do this all day long with friends and family. Obviously I have my favorite places to go but hey, just follow the buzzling sounds on a weekend night and you'll find plenty of nice places!
Take a seat at the terrace or a 'hang' the bar and enjoy the always buzzling vibe of 'De Grote Markt'. This is an all day favorite where parties go on till deep in the night.

Go here for the perfect rooftop view over the city. This is a bit more fancy than most places on the list but definitely worth a visit.
Although I would list it as a 'borrel' place, you can have nice lunch and diner here as well.

Things to do with children
Great Theme park for families with young(er) kids. Don't expect anything Disney-like, but it is great fun for a day.

Best beach spots
Located at the south of Schevening you'll find this less crowded beach. Hart Beach is my long time favorite for both lunch and diner. During summer times enjoy your drinks at the beach but during winter times you can warm up at the fire place inside. Hart Beach is the only beachclub thats here all year round, where others are only open in the season (april - october).

My favorite place at locals beach. When the weather is great, this place will be crowed all day but I trust you will manage to find a spot! You can also take a seat in the sand and order your drinks and bites at the bar. You'll get a flag and once your food is ready, they'll know where to find you.
O, try the delicious stone oven pizza's they do!

Must try when you're in The Netherlands
Best herring in town! Dare to eat it like a local: grab it by the tail, lift it and let it slide into your mouth... (a real local doesn't take the onions, but hey, we can be forgiving; onoins can be nice!).
P.S. be carefull of the seagulls; before you know it, your fish is gone!

Your daily grocery stores
Just a supermarkt for your daily groceries. It's not the nicest place, so take groceries for a couple of days ;-).
It's just a 15 minute walk from your place, a 5 minute bicycle ride but you can also park you care here.

A bit more luxurious than the Jumbo and way nicer located in the middle of the old town of Rijswijk. Just a 10 minute walk. They only downside: it's only a small supermarket and quite expensive.
